Therapy. It’s one of those topics you think apply to others, but not to a guy like you, right? What’s so great about sitting in a room for an hour, talking, anyway?
Maybe you think you’ve got it all handled. Like talking to an outsider would just throw a wrench into your way of doing things. Therapy might be frustrating to consider, or even – if you’re being honest with yourself – scary.
A lot of people feel the same way. But that doesn’t mean that therapy can’t be exactly what you need to get on a path to healing. Oftentimes, therapy is the best way to work through something. Yes, even for men.
So you realize you need help, but none of the people in your life know how to give it. It’s okay to find a therapist and talk it out with them. You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to take that initiative.
A therapist can help you:
Figure out how to be the father, husband, etc. your loved ones need you to be
Understand and heal from past traumas in a healthy way
Why wouldn’t you go see a counselor? What about it are you resistant to?
