At Becoming Well, our vision is to help individuals and couples experiencing relational and intimacy challenges as they journey from trauma, pain and hurt to healing, wholesomeness and restoration. Meet our extraordinary team who not only deliver utmost professionalism but are also integral to our unified goal of rebuilding relationships.

Matt Burton

COFOUNDER
Matt Burton is a certified recovery coach with over two decades of experience, working with thousands of men who are survivors of trauma, sexual addiction, intimacy avoidance, and relational trauma, among others. Matt is both a business leader and certified recovery coach who, in addition to personal experience, has also deepened his understanding of addiction and trauma through training and certifications.

Laura Burton

COFOUNDER
Laura Burton’s personal experience and journey as a partner through the impacts of pornography addiction, infidelity, and intimacy avoidance were instrumental to her trajectory as a recovery coach. She has a vibrant understanding of how addictions can negatively impact people and works to help partners of sex addicts, unfaithful partners, and intimacy avoidants restore the lost, broken and damaged trust.

Meet Our Team

Courtland McPherson,

Counsellor

Courtland McPherson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist with a master’s degree in social work and over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate mental health challenges. With a strong focus on trauma-informed care, Courtland specializes in treating men’s trauma and addiction disorders and providing individual counseling.
Throughout his career, Courtland has worked in a variety of settings, including child welfare and community mental health clinics. Now in private practice, he supports a diverse range of clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. His approach is rooted in empathy, empowerment, and collaboration, helping clients build resilience, develop coping skills, and regain control of their lives.
Beyond his clinical work, Courtland is an ardent advocate for men’s mental health. He is dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues and improving access to
quality care, believing that everyone deserves the support they need to thrive.

Kevin Rose

Workgroup Development
As a high school Math Teacher with 11 years of experience, Kevin provides valuable insight for the Becoming Well course curriculum design. His skills aid in the structure and design features for the Recovery and Healing courses. He ensures that the course curriculum maintains an interactive, accountable, and organized interface, thus helping clients get the most value from their experience with coaches.

Jennifer Brown

Administrator
As a former legal assistant/office manager Jennifer has 34 years of experience keeping an office running smoothly. After her retirement from the legal field, Jennifer refocused her changed professions and now works as paraeducator working with Special Ed students. She brings her skills of organization, accounts receivable, and billing to Becoming Well.

Lindsey Keefer

Manuscript Editor
Lindsey Keefer is a writer living in the Seattle area of Washington state. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Portland and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington Bothell.

Chip Morgan

Fidelity Testing Program Advisor
Chip Morgan is an internationally recognized polygraph instructor, law enforcement trainer, guest lecturer and keynote speaker. He is past Chairman, Board and President of the National Polygraph Association and serves as a quality control officer for that organization. A Lifetime Membership and Lifetime Achievement honoree by the National Polygraph Association, he is currently Director in the American Polygraph Association, 2021-2025.
